The patron of Jovençan is Saint Ursus, celebrated on 1 February.
On the Châtelair headland, above the village, stand the little church of Saint-Georges-en-Châtelair, built in 1661 after the 1630 plague as a chapel serving the castle of the Jovensano family, and the Torre dei Salassi, also called the casaforte di Pompiod. A little higher up are the actual ruins of the castle of Jovençan, known as the tyrants' castle: it dated from the 13th century, but in the 14th the Count of Savoy had it razed to the ground, and today only the base of a round tower and the remains of the thick walls survive.
