The patron saint of Saint-Nicolas is Saint Nicholas, celebrated on 9 May, in the parish church dedicated to him, in the locality of La Cure: the bell tower dates from the 15th century, while the spire was added in the 17th.
In 1869, near the church, a Neolithic necropolis was discovered: two bracelets found in the cist graves are now kept at the museum of the Academy of Saint Anselm. Also at La Cure stands the Jean-Baptiste Cerlogne Museum, dedicated to the Aosta Valley priest and poet who codified the spelling of the local patois, also honoured by a monument in the bois de la Tour. The town is also crossed by the Gaboé stream, which has carved into the land the so-called «earth pyramids», a distinctive geological phenomenon.
