The patroness of Recco is Our Lady of the Suffrage, celebrated on 7 and 8 September in the 18th-century sanctuary dedicated to her, in the town centre. Since 1996, the people of Recco have chosen, in a sort of popular referendum, the Madonna del Suffragio — locally called «la Suffragina» — as the sole patroness of the town.
Beside the sanctuary stands the oratory of the same name, originally dedicated to Saint Martin and built from 1620, which holds the statue of the Madonna and Child and has side altars dedicated to the saint of Tours and to the Holy Crucifix. On 7 and 8 September the town also holds the Sagra del fuoco, which in 2024 marked the 200th anniversary of the sacred image's coronation: the town's seven districts — Bastia, Collodari, Liceto, Ponte, San Martino, Spiaggia and Verzemma — put on fireworks displays, fire antique mascoli cannons and set up food stands in her honour.
