On 29 September Giustenice celebrates co-patron Saint Michael the Archangel; since 1972 the village has re-enacted the 1448 siege between Genoa and the Del Carretto family with the Palio dei Carri.
Among the patrons of Giustenice is the Archangel Michael, celebrated on 29 September in the church dedicated to him; the other patron, Saint Lawrence, is celebrated on 10 August.
Since 1972 the village has re-enacted the 1448 historical episode, when the Republic of Genoa and the Del Carretto family clashed for control of the territory, with the Palio dei Carri, a knockout contest among the districts.
