The Corsa della Torta is held on Easter Day and has roots reaching back to the fifteenth century: it recalls the legendary resistance of the young men of Oleggio against foreign invaders. Before the races a historical procession passes through the streets with more than four hundred figures in Renaissance costume.
The races take place in piazza Martiri and begin in the afternoon, with categories for boys and girls and then the adults' palio. The edition of 5 April 2026 marked a first: alongside the men's palio, the women's was run as well, approved by the town council in February of that year.
