The patrons of Borgaro Torinese are Saints Cosmas and Damian, celebrated on the last Sunday of September in the chapel dedicated to them, of medieval origin and first documented in 1386. Among the old chapels that once stood in Borgaro's territory, it is the only one that has survived to this day: it was used to celebrate the patronal feast of the two titular saints and held a relic attributed to them. During the 17th century it probably became the temporary seat of the local parish; the building was then almost entirely rebuilt in the 18th century.
Borgaro's parish, instead, is seated in the church of Santa Maria Assunta, built in 1584 by countess Margherita Langosco di Stroppiana under the title of Sant'Antonio: in the first half of the 18th century a thorough renovation turned it into the parish seat with the new dedication to the Assunta, and in 1740 the bell tower was built on land belonging to the Birago family, who in exchange gained the right to build a private chapel inside it.
