The patron of Montesano Salentino is Saint Donatus, bishop and martyr, celebrated on 6 and 7 August with the feast and fair dedicated to him. His eighteenth-century statue is carried in procession.
The festival calendar also includes the Feast of Saint Aloysius, on the third Saturday of June, and the Feast of the Sorrowful Madonna, on the third Saturday of September, whose nineteenth-century statue with angels, the work of an artist from Lecce, is carried in procession during the Good Friday Misteri. The town holds the Calvario di Montesano Salentino and the Pineta Le Pile.
