The patroness of Cossoine is Saint Clare (santa Chiara), celebrated on 11 August.
Cossoine is mentioned in several historical sources for a singular feature of its songs: unlike the usual Sardinian custom of a tenor song that is exclusively male, in this village there was a female tradition, which has been irreversibly lost for more than a century. The municipality holds the churches of San Sebastiano and Santa Croce and the Centro di Documentazione Pietrina Cossu in Ruggiu.
