Adrano has two patrons: Saint Vincent of Saragossa, whose cult arrived in Aragonese times, and Saint Nicholas Politi, a 12th-century hermit from Adrano whose cult was introduced towards the end of the 17th century and who is also patron of Alcara Li Fusi, in the Messina area. His is the most important feast, and it lasts three days: 2, 3 and 4 August.
The moment everyone waits for is the Angel's Flight, on 3 August: near the end of the procession, around nine in the evening, a child dressed as an angel is suspended twelve metres above the statue, held by a rope stretched between Palazzo Bianchi and the mother church; he recites a sacred ode, throws a bunch of flowers towards the float and rises again. Two days later, on 5 August, the procession of the Madonna della Catena goes out, still within the patronal festivities.
