Every 10 May Gangi honours its patron saint: solemn mass with the town authorities, the mayor's floral tribute, and a procession that calls at the town's churches.
Gangi's patron is Saint Cataldus, a seventh-century Irish monk whose cult spread across southern Italy. His feast day, 10 May, brings a solemn mass attended by the civil authorities and the confraternity, the mayor's floral tribute, and a prayer entrusting the town to the saint.
The statue is then carried in procession through the medieval streets, stopping at the town's churches — the traditional “visit” San Cataldo pays to each of them. In 2026 the celebrations took place on 9 and 10 May.

📅 Every year, on a weekend in April, at the Foro Boario
For three days in April, Gangi's Foro Boario pairs a farming and livestock fair with a festival built around Madonie wild boar: tastings with live music, cattle contests and cheese-making demos.
📅 Every year on the Monday after Pentecost, between late May and June
On the Monday after Pentecost, some forty statues of saints are carried on shoulders through Gangi to the sanctuary of the Holy Spirit, ending with ritual runs across the churchyard.
📅 Every year in the first ten days of August; the Demeter procession closes on the second Sunday of the month
Gangi gives the first days of August to its wheat festival, now past sixty editions. The high point is the Corteo di Demetra on the second Sunday, closed by a comedy in local dialect.
