The patrons of Monteleone d'Orvieto are the Apostles Peter and Paul, celebrated on 29 June, together with Saint Theodore the martyr: in 1738 his remains were brought to the town and the saint was proclaimed co-patron alongside the titular saints of the main church.
The Collegiate Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul, a distinguished collegiate church located in the historic centre along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, holds the fine panel painting of the Madonna and Child with Saints Peter and Paul, a work attributed to Perugino's workshop; inside is also the crypt of Saint Theodore, where the martyr's remains are kept, decorated in the 1930s by Professor Guglielmo Ascanio.
