The patron of Conegliano is Saint Leonard, celebrated on 6 November. His name has been with the town for centuries: when the castle was the centre of power, it held both the magistrate's seat and the collegiate church of San Leonardo.
Today the patron's church is the cathedral, and you almost cannot see it: the façade is set among the palaces of the street and covered by the elegant pointed-arch structure of the Scuola dei Battuti. Above those arches is the real treasure, a great fresco considered the largest wall fresco in the Veneto, a painted book on the street. The frescoes outside and those of the Sala dei Battuti inside are by Pozzoserrato.
