The patron of Champorcher is Saint Nicholas, celebrated on 6 December in the parish church dedicated to him, built in 1728. On a promontory nearby stands the castle of Champorcher, built in medieval times by the family of Bard; the House of Savoy then kept direct lordship over the territory until 1682, when the Freydoz family acquired control of it, raised to a barony in 1746 in favour of Jean-Nicolas Freydoz. The municipal coat of arms still reflects the Freydoz blazon today, with the tower symbolising the one built by the Savoy in 1320 on the remains of the old fortified house of the lords of Bard.
In Chardonney, in the Thomas house, a typical example of traditional rural architecture, the Champorcher hemp ecomuseum is housed, dedicated to a crop and craft once widespread in the valley; nearby stands an old water mill once used for grinding grain.
