The patron saint of Satriano di Lucania is Saint Roch of Montpellier, celebrated on 16 August and with a second observance in May, which also involves laying a wreath at the town's war memorial. On 2 July, instead, the Madonna delle Grazie is celebrated, its destination being the sanctuary of the same name, restored under the care of the Potenza monuments authority.
Satriano di Lucania was named in 1988 the «Italian capital of murals»: in the historic centre, as of 2019, there were as many as 410 wall paintings representing the very image of the town. Among the historic places of worship is the church of the Madonna della Rocca, a 15th-century chapel originally dedicated to the Madonna of the Nativity, notable for being carved directly into the rock, and the Chapel of San Donato, which holds the icon of the saintly bishop. The local Carnival is also deeply felt, with traditional masks such as the bear and the hermit.
