The patron saint of Pietracatella is Saint Donatus, whose feast is celebrated on 7 August.
The town was once overlooked by an imposing castle, of which now only a few traces remain; the most important architectural complex, and the one closest to it, is the church of San Giacomo Apostolo il Maggiore, with an annexed crypt dedicated to Saint Margaret, dating from the 11th century. The town's two main feasts are precisely that of the patron Saint Donatus and that of the Madonna di Costantinopoli, also called Madonna della ricotta, celebrated on the first Tuesday after Pentecost in the church dedicated to her: the town also celebrates Saint Anthony of Padua on 13 June.
