For two weekends each autumn the whole town turns into one long pistachio counter: stalls along Viale Catania and through the centre sell pesto, sweet creams, brittle, arancini and pistachio gelato, while marching bands, flag throwers and painted Sicilian carts work their way down the streets. The 34th edition, presented by the town administration, took place on 10-12 and 17-19 October 2025.
The festival follows the rhythm of the tree itself, which crops every other year: odd-numbered autumns, when the nuts are picked off the lava terraces, are the ones everyone waits for. Around the food there are talks on the DOP label, cooking demonstrations with chefs and pastry makers, shows and concerts.
