The patron saint of Santa Domenica Vittoria is Saint Anthony the Abbot, celebrated on the first Sunday of September, in the town's only church, known as the Chiesa Madre and parish church of Sant'Antonio Abate: it is the town's first cultural and historic building and a symbol of its feudal origins.
The very name Santa Domenica Vittoria indeed recalls its founders, Domenico Alliata, fifth prince of Villafranca, and Vittoria di Giovanni, princess of Ucria, who in 1776 financed the transformation of the original chapel into a sacramental church, fitting it with a small marble baptismal font bearing the family coat of arms: it is the oldest object still preserved in the church.
