The patroness of Acquasparta is Saint Cecilia, celebrated on 22 November in the church dedicated to her, the town's main church, on corso dei Lincei. Of medieval origin, it took on its 18th-century appearance in 1758 under the architect Francesco Bettini, a collaborator of Piermarini. Inside, rich in artworks, stands the Chapel of the Holy Crucifix, where Isabella Liviana Cesi has been buried since 1582, and above all her grandson Federico Cesi since 1630: the duke who in the early 17th century revived the Accademia dei Lincei in Acquasparta, which he had founded, and who hosted Galileo Galilei in the family palace.
Every June, the town honours Federico Cesi, known as il Linceo, with the Festa del Rinascimento: shows, processions, conferences, workshops and taverns, with contests among the town's three districts — del Ghetto, di Porta Vecchia and di San Cristoforo — ending with the Grande Gioco dell'Oca in the square and the Grande Corteo dei doni.
