'A Scurata - Cunti e canti al calar del sole

📅 Every summer, with shows at sunset

Theatre, jazz and songwriters performing as the sun drops over the Stagnone lagoon: born among Marsala's salt pans, the festival reached its ninth edition in 2026 with 21 dates between Villa Genna, the Trapani area and dawn shows on the Egadi islands.

Patron saint festival In 295 days 📍 Matera

Feast of the Madonna della Bruna

📅 Every year, on 2 July

On 2 July Matera builds a triumphal papier-mâché float and, at the end of the day, lets the crowd tear it apart. It has done so since 1389, and the following year the float is built again from scratch.

The Madonna del Boschetto

📅 Every year, on 2 July; Saint Fortunato on the second Sunday of May, Saint Prospero on 31 August

On 2 July Camogli recalls the apparition seen in 1518 by Angiola Schiaffino where the sanctuary now stands. But the town has three patrons, each with a date and a story.

Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene

📅 Every year, on 22 July

On 22 July the island celebrates the saint it is named after. It falls in the month when the archipelago is at its busiest, and it stays the islanders' own day.

Feast of Saint Apollinaris

📅 Every year, on 23 July; the Madonna Greca on the Sunday after Easter

Ravenna has two patrons and two dates: Saint Apollinaris, the city's first bishop, on 23 July; the Madonna Greca on the Sunday after Easter.

Patron saint festival In 316 days 📍 Sepino

Saint Christina, twice a year

📅 Every year, on 23 and 24 July; 8, 9 and 10 January for the arrival of the relics

Sepino celebrates its patron on 23 and 24 July, together with Bolsena, its twin town. But the feast felt most deeply falls in January, and recalls the arrival of the relics in 1099.

On 25 July Bellagio celebrates Saint James, the patron who gives his name to the Romanesque basilica at the top of the village, above the point where Lake Como splits in two.

On 27 July Courmayeur celebrates Saint Pantaleon, its patron: the date falls in high alpine summer, between the two seasons that mark the year at the foot of Mont Blanc.

Feast of Saint Pantaleon

📅 Every year, on 27 July

On 27 July the cathedral of Ravello displays the ampoule holding Saint Pantaleon's blood, which liquefies on that day each year. It is the patron's feast, shared with Saint Barbara.
