The patron saint of Valgrisenche is Saint Gratus, celebrated on 7 September. The parish church dedicated to him originally dates from 1390, was consecrated in 1417 and rebuilt in 1875, the year in which it was reconsecrated by Bishop Joseph-Auguste Duc; it houses a museum of sacred art and a fine organ built by Carlo Vegezzi Bossi, while the bell tower dates from the original 1392 construction.
Valgrisenche is known for the craft tradition of the drap, a coarse wool cloth once used for blankets and today also for bags and tablecloths: the municipal coat of arms echoes its weave in a silver band, with the red, black and silver enamels taken from those of the Duchy of Aosta in the 16th century. The municipality, scattered across dozens of small hamlets, also includes the Maison-Forte and Lake Beauregard, formed by the dam built between the 1950s and 1960s, whose construction led to the abandonment of seven villages in the valley.
