The patron of Pino Torinese is Saint Andrew Corsini, and his feast, on 4 February, is the most important one for the town. On 16 July, instead, the Madonna del Carmine is celebrated.
Andrew Corsini, after a dissolute youth, decided to become a Carmelite friar: in 1318 he entered as a novice in the convent of Florence, in 1328 he was ordained priest and sent to Paris to study theology and philosophy, then admitted to the papal court at Avignon. Back in Florence in 1332, he was elected prior of the city's Carmelite convent; in 1349 the cathedral chapter elected him bishop of Fiesole, a post he accepted reluctantly. He was also papal legate in Bologna by will of Pope Urban V, where he worked to pacify the city's warring factions. His remains rest in the Corsini chapel of the basilica of Santa Maria del Carmine, in Florence.
