Feast of Saint Martin
📅 Every year, on 11 November
On 11 November Pinzano celebrates its patron Saint Martin with the traditional village fair and horse-shaped sweets; the Valeriano parish is dedicated to Saint Stephen instead.
Pordenone is the youngest of Friuli-Venezia Giulia's provinces, carved out of Udine in 1968, and it is currently on its way back. Abolished as a local authority in 2017 and replaced by a regional decentralisation body, it becomes a full province again on 1 January 2027, under a reform of the regional statute passed in January 2026. The map underneath has not moved: 50 municipalities in the western corner of the region, from the Tagliamento plain up to the mountains along the northern border.
The capital is not the whole story. Sacile sits at the western end, on the Livenza river where Veneto begins; San Vito al Tagliamento takes its name from the river marking the other side of the province; Cordenons and Porcia form Pordenone's suburban belt. Further north, where the plain meets the foothills, Spilimbergo and Maniago are the towns that matter.
